Practices Follow People

Practices Follow People

While coaching one of our great members today, I was telling her that another one of our members broke her record for most patients served in one day.  The first thing that she said to me was, “Practices follow people.”  When I asked her what she meant by that, this is what she said…

The Pillar of Strength

The Pillar of Strength

There are four main areas in your office that must be mastered to achieve your dream practice. At The Markson Connection we call these The Four Pillars of Practice Success. They are: Headspace, Philosophy, Systems and Marketing.

Making the Tough Decisions

Making the Tough Decisions

“They don’t believe in your business, they are just there for the paycheck,” David said. “Do you literally work with someone who is sh**ing on your dream? … Why don’t you set them free?”

The Abundant Life

The Abundant Life

For the past three years, I have had the opportunity to be a part of The Markson Connection.  A Tribe of about 60 or so chiropractors and coordinators, we come together three times a year for what we consider our Tribal Gatherings:  Best Practice Ever, My Authentic Self, and Service to Humanity.

Where’s Your Passion?

Where’s Your Passion?

After coaching many Doctors for the last 10 years one thing is clear to me… Many chiropractors who are struggling or on a plateau, have lost their passion for chiropractic and their enthusiasm to serve humanity.

It’s not the “what”…it’s the “who”…

It’s not the “what”…it’s the “who”…

Have you ever found yourself comparing what you have to what your friends have?  “He has a bigger practice.  She has more jewelry.”

“I’m flat!” (At least I was, until yesterday)

“I’m flat!” (At least I was, until yesterday)

While conversing with chiropractors on Friday, before Larry and I spoke, the predominating theme was fear.  Fear of survival,  fear of the economy, and fear of the future.  There is nothing worse than looking into the sad eyes of a chiropractor and seeing the, “This isn’t how I thought it would be,” look.  “I’m flat,” they would say…and their facial expressions proved them right!

My, You've Changed!

My, You've Changed!

I just got back from Las Vegas – I returned to a chiropractic seminar that I haven’t attended for the past four or five years.  You know that feeling of going to a reunion of some sort?  The excitement, mixed with the anxiety, mixed with the discerning observations of, “what happened to that friend, or this family member, or this old place that we used to hang out in?”

A Model of Consistency

 A Model of Consistency

Here’s the fact…consistency is the key!  It really doesn’t matter what you are trying to accomplish, just be consistent.  Wanna try to refute my theory…go for it.

The Curtain Is Up

The Curtain Is Up

When chiropractors talk about training their staff members, they are usually referring to handing their new employees a few crumpled up scripts that they copied from a 1978 practice management manual that their friend’s uncle used all of those years ago.
