3 Ways to Achieve a High Volume Practice

What?  I can’t hear you…your volume isn’t high enough.

As I travel across the country, meeting chiropractors, I’m beginning to get a sneaking suspicion. I think most docs are beginning to think that “high volume” practices are a thing of the past. Well, I’m here to tell you that they are dead wrong.

Sure, it requires a big vision. Yes, it requires some hard work. You’re right, it requires change. But, it is ABSOLUTELY possible… if you want it bad enough.

Here are the first three things you need to change RIGHT NOW if you want a high volume practice.

  1. Crystal Clear Vision. Without a specific picture in your mind of EXACTLY what you want, when you want it by, what you are willing to do to achieve your goals, and understanding your core values, the chances of growing a huge chiropractic practice gets very slim. You’ve heard for years that you are supposed to set written goals…do you? You are supposed to share your vision with your team…have you? You are supposed to spend time, DAILY, reviewing the goals and the action steps…did you?

If you are trying to reinvent the wheel, don’t. Success leaves clues. Look around you; there are genius chiropractors all around you. Get in their face. I’m talking right up in their personal space. Simply find out everything there is to know about their thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors and copy them.

  2. A Thicker Skin. Yes, some patients are going to quit. Yes, one of your CA’s is looking for a new job, even as you are reading this. If you wish to build a huge practice, you are going to have to develop some GRIT. Anyone who reaches elite levels in their chosen field deals with adversity. For chiropractors, that can be insurance changes, staff problems, financial pressures, family challenges, and of course, patient compliance issues. Just keep telling yourself that this is all part of the game. Are you really going to let a few little setbacks hold you back from realizing your dreams?

If your desires are strong enough, you shouldn’t let any obstacle overwhelm you…or your team.  Help each other, support each other, and most of all, never, ever quit.

  3. Finally, it is time to reinvent yourself. Modernization is a part of the game. Adapt or perish. So, it is time for you and your team to decide which procedures and policies in your office no longer support your vision. You may need some new documentation, new technology, new hours, new marketing, new communication skills, or new chiropractic coaching to get you up the mountaintop. Embrace change.

You must be willing to spend money, time, and energy toward getting what you want. Utilize the resources around you. In order to see high volume, you are going to have to move faster, market yourself better, communicate clearer, and create systems that support all of the compliance needs for your chiropractic practice.

Please let me tell you from personal experience, that not only is it possible, but the path has been forged. Are you ready to throw out your old habits and adopt new ones? If so, there is no limit to what you can achieve in practice. There are so many people out there who need your help. Go help them…ALL OF THEM.
